Rehabilitation Therapy Works!

Small Changes Can Make a Huge Difference

Rehabilitation therapy services provided by GSNY Home Care include but not be limited to occupational therapy, physical therapy, speech pathology, occupational therapy, respiratory and audiology.

Our goal for clients is simple: to help them to live optimally independent lives. We tailor each individual's therapy plan to his or her unique needs.

Physical Therapy

Our physical therapists help clients to regain their strength and balance, prevent falls, increase range of motion, and decrease pain through individualized exercise programs and fitness equipment that encourage physical health. In addition, our highly qualified physical therapists offer the following services:

  • Home safety assessments

  • Fall risk reduction programs

  • Pain control interventions

  • Balance programs

  • Medical equipment assessments

  • Recommendations for improved ambulation

This is especially important after a fall, injury, or surgery.

Occupational Therapy
Our occupational therapists focus on increasing a person’s independence at home, enabling people to participate in activities of daily living (ADLs) through specific treatment plans. Occupational therapist focuses many of his/her interventions on the client's upper extremities and on the fine muscle skills needed to perform functional activities, such as eating or dressing.

Our occupational therapists may help someone recovering from an injury or stroke regain lost skills, or support older adults experiencing physical or cognitive changes.

Speech Therapy
Speech therapy services are provided to individuals who have speech and language problems, including difficulties or delays in language development. Our speech language pathologists work with clients to improve their ability to carry out independently ADLs related to communication or swallowing, i.e. talking on phone, eating or managing oral secretions.

If you have difficulties speaking, understanding, reading, writing, memory, problem solving or swallowing, Speech Therapy can help! A Speech-Language Pathologist is a professional who can evaluate, diagnose and provide rehabilitative therapy for cognitive, communication and swallowing disorders in individuals of all ages, from infants to the elderly.

Respiratory Therapy
Our respiratory therapists care for clients with breathing and cardiopulmonary disorders. Their treatment plans are designed to return each client to his or her optimal pulmonary function while promoting an understanding of the disease process. This includes teaching clients and their families about treatment and maintenance of pulmonary health problems, including the use of respiratory therapy equipment and medications.
